Set in the lively Fuentes del Valle neighborhood, this spot captures the spirit of a traditional mercado with touches that invite you to slow down and enjoy. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, with both rooftop and outdoor seating that fill up with a diverse crowd—from university students and groups of friends to solo diners seeking a quiet corner. The vibe often includes live music, adding a pleasant backdrop without overwhelming conversation.
The menu leans into familiar Mexican flavors, where tacos come with well-portioned proteins like sirloin, arrachera, and pastor, each served simply with grilled onions and fresh cilantro. For a heartier meal or something to take home, you’ll find generous portions of guisados ready to warm up, including classics like pork in chile morita or chicharrón prensado. Antojitos típicos like flautas filled with shredded meat and accompanied by guacamole and crema provide a satisfying, homestyle touch, while traditional dishes such as enchiladas and chile relleno round out the offerings.
Many come here appreciating the approachable mix of casual dining with a touch of trendiness, tapping into the great selection of beers, cocktails, and even local-style coffee. The drink menus complement a range of occasions, whether it’s grabbing brunch, settling in for dinner, or enjoying happy hour with friends. The space also accommodates families comfortably, with amenities geared toward kids and accessibility.
Service tends to be friendly and attentive, though the place can get busy, especially around lunch and weekends. Those visiting typically appreciate an authentic local feel, balancing a lively market atmosphere with comfortable seating and thoughtful touches like quiet corners or a private dining room. Parking is generally convenient, with free options nearby, making it an easy stop whether you’re a local or passing through.

"Really good food good service nice atmosphere and music."
"A great mexican style experience, great food and drinks at affordable prices."
5 Great good and amazing atmosphere. The restaurant gives you the feeling of being in a real mercado (fruits and vegetables market). We ordered for appetizers guacamole, queso fundido with chorizo (molten cheese with chorizo) and fideo seco which is basically very short spaghetti with a sauce which is also very worth trying. For entree I had the enchilada.
5 This place is very nice. It has a great atmosphere. The food is really good and the service is very kind. On May 18 we arrived to the place at 8:30 am and the gatekeeper said that on weekends they open at 9am, therefore I suggested and edition on the open hours for this place. @ owner, please keep this page updated as today more than 12 people is already waiting for the service.
5 The food is good but honestly is over priced. The staff is very friendly and the service efficient. However I must highlight that the restroom (women) was super dirty, staff must watch out and properly clean
5 Very tasty food with a good atmosphere our waitress Paola was great very curious and friendly.
5 Great place for food my fellow americans, lunch time can get pretty busy. If you're in the sweet coffees, I recommend the local sweet traditional coffee.
5 The food here is delicious. Julio did a great job taking care of us. He was very attentive. The atmosphere was happy and uplifting. This is a great spot to share a meal with your friends or family
5 The service was great and quick, all the staff is professional and kind. The food is amazing. Only 1 bathroom for men for such a big restaurant seems odd though
5 What a delight was to have brunch at San Benito. We ordered green chilaquiles and an arrachera torta. The chilaquiles had shredded beef on top with sour cream also. The torta had plenty of avocado and of course a large tender beef arrachera steak. I ordered Cafe de Olla which was just delicious with cream and a cinnamon taste. Service was totally excellent. We will definitely be back for more menu items, especially since the menu is very extensive.
